p&C fundraising EVENTs at wishart

Most fundraising in schools is conducted by the P&C Association due to their sanction under the Collections Act 1966. The main purpose is to facilitate the development and further improvement of the school.

The P&C is responsible for (among other things):

  • developing in conjunction with the school a fundraising program, outlining the purpose of fundraising and how funds raised will be used, and an annual fundraising calendar

  • conducting fundraising where the school is the beneficiary

  • collecting the funds raised and then transferring funds to the school in the form of a donation [or purchasing items for the school].

Wishart State School P&C has a dedicated Fundraising Coordinator who facilitates the running of a number of events each year to raise funds for projects around the school.  Come and volunteer alongside other school families, make new friends, and have a great time.  There is a job to suit you!

We are always open to new ideas for fundraising, so if you have a new idea, please feel free to let us know.

SCHOOL DISCOS

The 2024 School Disco will be held in Term 3. Get your groove on while our resident DJ plays the latest kid friendly hits. Doors open at 5.00pm, with food and glow products available for purchase from this time also. The Junior Disco runs from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. Senior Disco runs from 7:00pm - 8:00pm.

​BUSH DANCE

A highlight in the school calendar, is the annual bush dance, held in mid-August. It’s a great opportunity to put on your cowboy boots, and be ready to dosey doe. Come early and buy dinner, as we serve a number of family friendly dinner and drink options for the whole family.

TRIVIA NIGHT

Our Trivia night is fabulous night out for the parents. We have a different theme each year we hold the night. Tables compete against each other and there’s plenty of laughter and frivolity. Start rounding up people now for your table, so when tickets go on sale you can grab them straight away!

Colour EXPLOSION

We continue to have great fundraising success with our Colour Explosion Fun Run! This is a fabulous opportunity for the kids to get out, collect sponsors, and have time on the oval running between obstacles and colour stations.

MOTHERS’ & FATHERS’ DAY STALLS

The P&C is excited to be running the Mothers’ and Fathers’ day stalls again this year. We have sourced lots of fresh and modern products that we know will be a hit for all. Prices range from $1 to $20.

Junior CROSS COUNTRY & Junior SPORTS DAY

At our Junior Cross Country & Sports Days you can buy a Sausage, or Bacon and Egg burger, and a cold drink from our P&C stand, or grab a coffee from the coffee van. All proceeds go to the P&C.

​​ELECTION DAY BBQs

Every Election Day you will find us in the Junior Shelter shed, with a Sausage Sizzle, Bacon and Egg Burgers, drinks, Cake Stall, and Raffles. Come along and support us, while doing your bit for the democratic system.

MID & END OF YEAR MUSIC CONCERTS

Enjoy a Sausage sizzle and enjoy the performances put on by the children in various Concert bands, Strings Ensembles and Choirs.​
